Shakespeare at The George
Since 1959, Shakespeare at The George has entertained tens of thousands of people with its acclaimed open-air productions of Shakespeare’s plays, held in the courtyard of The George Hotel in Huntingdon. The atmospheric Jacobean courtyard provides an evocative setting, much like audiences would have experienced in Shakespeare’s time.
We are an amateur group who pride ourselves on providing near-professional quality productions for a two week run, every summer. We are proud to have won numerous NODA awards for our productions, our technical expertise and even our show programmes!
SaTG in the Parlour
Whilst the main focus of the company is our annual open-air Shakespeare production, more recently we have expanded our offering to include SaTG in the Parlour. The Parlour concept was developed to broaden the range and accessibility of SaTG productions, allowing us to provide high quality local drama at other times of the year, in more intimate settings, featuring the work of other playwrights – extending the range of productions available to audiences, actors and crew in Cambridgeshire.
We welcome new performers, directors and backstage / technical crew for both our summer production and SaTG in the Parlour (indeed we particularly welcome submissions from directors for Parlour productions) then please get in touch by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The SaTG Trust
Shakespeare at The George is a registered charity and run by a board of trustees who oversee all aspects of the company and disburse the charitable funds we make available every year to local groups and individuals to further theatre and theatre skills in the region.
