REMEMBERING 60 YEARS OF LOCAL THEATRE
Want to grab yourself a rather marvellous piece of local history?
Of course you do.
The centre-piece of our year-long anniversary celebrations, we’ve documented every single production performed in the courtyard of The George Hotel since 1959 in a new book to help celebrate our 60th anniversary.
The full-colour souvenir book is packed with 130 pages of cast and crew lists, pictures and audience memories of every show we’ve performed, detailing 507 performances and 51 separate productions, it features a combined cast and crew of over 1,300 local actors, dancers, musicians, technicians and backstage support, not to mention the tens of thousands of audience members we’ve entertained over the years.
It is a fascinating record of the history of the company, painstakingly researched and assembled by SaTG’s archiving team of Elizabeth Elliott, Jacqueline Spencer and John Shippey who have spent many hundreds of hours in creating a worthy celebration of 60 years of this local theatrical institution.
This beautifully illustrated and informative piece of local history is just £10 and will be available to buy from the George Hotel throughout the run of this summer’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Tuesday 25 June to Saturday 6 July). The book can also be ordered by emailing SaTG at firstname.lastname@example.org.
