How to get involved

Shakespeare at The George is always looking for new faces to join the company and welcomes anyone who would like to get involved, either as an actor or in one of the many essential roles behind the scenes.  If you would like to register your interest in any element of our productions, click here to contact us.  Alternatively, feel free to get in touch on facebook, via our twitter account (@SATG_Huntingdon), or come along to any of the performances and ask to speak to a Trustee.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Auditions for the main Shakespeare production take place in early November (rehearsals start in April), with SaTG In The Parlour auditioning soon afterwards (rehearsals start in January).   All auditions take place at The George Hotel, Huntingdon.  We aim to publicise the auditions well in advance, both here on our website, our facebook page and on our twitter account.

Production crew:

Partly due to our unique outdoor venue, Shakespeare at The George offers a wide variety of backstage roles for anyone interested in getting involved in the productions.  We install our own stage, design and build our own sets and create lavish period costumes for every show.  Lighting, sound, hair, properties, hair and make-up are also of the highest quality and we are also always looking for musicians interested in helping us create the music that helps bring each of our productions to life.  If any of these roles sound interesting, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

As a student, many years ago, I was responsible for the costumes of the drama society. Most of the plays were modern, so not much sewing involved, but I can sew clothes and would be happy to help out with costumes.

I enjoyed the Tempest immensely as well as the great Shakespeare day at theCommemoration Hall and would like to act in your production of Pericles.
Are you holding auditions and if so when as I was so bowled over by the energy and power of your Tempest I think it would be so fine to get involved with your company.
I very much look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes, Chris

    Hi there,

I was a friend of Kevin O Conner and learnt about the society through him. I was hoping to audition for maybe 2019’s production when I return to Huntingdon next year. Out of sheer curiosity, do you know which play you will be looking to do?

    Many thanks,

    • Reuben Milne says:

Sorry for the delay in responding. 2019 is shaping up to be a real crowd-pleaser, Midsummer Nights Dream. We’ll be auditioning in November next year (2018). Watch this space for details.
